Mild mannered anaesthetics supervisor by day and by night, unstoppable ultramarathon runner by every other waking and sleepwalking hour. The first woman to complete the Aussie Grand Slam of Ultra Running with 4 races of 100 miles and over within 3 months of each other, Jane is now the first woman to ever run across the Simpson Desert.
Her latest exploit began on April 1. Ably supported from 2 vehicles by a roughly assembled crew of 5 from Tokyo, York in W.A and Adelaide, Jane reached her goal in Birdsville on Tuesday April 10 – but only after a flood-threatened journey of more than 660km in a single pair of Hoka OneOne Bondi B running shoes and in temperatures of up to 45 degrees Celsius.
She is yet to reach her fundraising goal for charity of choice Bear Cottage, but if you’re reading this right now you can help by clicking on this link.
She is also a brand ambassador for Skirt Sports and Injinji and Hoka.
O yeah, she’s only little…

Hi Jane, Did you manage to get your vehicle yet for your Simpson challenge?
I may be interested.
Hi Jane,
I have just found your request for support assistance on a charity run in April.
I would be more that happy to lend support if you still need it.
I can give you a full rundown on myself, vehicle, outback skills and anything else you might like to know.
If I dont here from you, good luck with the run.
Cheers
Garry

Congratulations Jane. What a fantastic effort!!! The international news service AFP would be very interested in using the photos of you in the tent and running through the burnt bush to accompany the story going to 165 countries. Please email both images if we are allowed to use them for editorial purposes only. Kind regards, Torsten.
Hopefully Roger has dealt with the photos for you Torsten… I’ve been out of communication
